Jem Rycraft

Wendy Richardson

Sarah Clark

As founder director of Indefinite Article, Jem Rycraft trained as an actor at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, graduating way back in 1990 and then completed a Cert Ed [PCET] at The University of Southampton twenty years later in 2010. Jem’s work has taken him all over the UK and throughout Europe; primarily in the roles of actor, director, teacher and community worker.

Tom's Story is the first TIE project undertaken by Indefinite Article - and bringing in Wendy Richardson to lead on dynamics and character development work throughout early rehearsals was crucial in developing a truly inclusive and supportive ensemble. Originally from Newcastle and now based in London, Wendy plies her trade as an actress, director, producer, film maker and workshop facilitator. Wendy credits much of her practice to Brian Astbury; author of Trusting the Actor and founder director of Space Theatre in South Africa.

Sarah Clark's career began in music. Following studies at The University of Winchester it was a natural progression for Sarah to undertake a PGCE and teach drama and theatre studies. In her role as a drama teacher Sarah specialised in voice work, but also developed skills in directing and working collaboratively. As well as mothering two young boys, Sarah now works with a charity training provider with the aim of providing qualifications and work experience to young adults who, for various reasons, have not had their needs met in mainstream education.
