Yesterday saw the pilot tour of Tom's Story come to an end at The Sholing Technology College in Southampton. Having played to two hundred students there last Friday, it was a welcome return to play to another two hundred students along with professionals from the safeguarding board and Simon Hayes [The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Commissioner] who stayed beyond that of the performance to witness some of the hot-seating workshop and see and hear fror himself the impact that our work was having. In the words of the lead link teacher "You will have made a difference to the lives of young people with your play and workshop"

For Wendy Richardson, who had been instrumental in developing the ensemble in its formative stage, it was a proud moment: "I sat feeling genuinely honoured to have been part of this creative exploration. This beautiful experiment. I witnessed a company who created a truly safe space for voices to be heard - whatever those voices had to say. My heart was bursting out of my chest with pride during the vital post-show workshop as I watched a company emerge who wanted nothing more than to engage with and listen to their audience - never sitting in judgement and ably transitioning the voice of the characters to those who they represented"
No more detentions. Happy holidays!
